Interventional Radiology

Dr. Sara Dastmalchian is a Board Certified Vascular and Interventional Radiologist. Originally from Iran, Dr. Dastmalchian earned her medical degree at Tehran University of Medical Sciences in Tehran, Iran. She served as a General Practitioner in both hospital and outpatient settings within her home country, dedicating time to underserved areas for several years.


Following her relocation to the United States, she pursued a post-doctoral research fellowship focused on MRI technology development at Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, OH. She completed her Diagnostic Radiology residency training with Early Specialization in Interventional Radiology (ESIR) at the same institution.


Prior to joining the ARIA group, Dr. Dastmalchian completed her fellowship in Vascular and Interventional Radiology at University of California San Francisco (UCSF). She is passionate about the whole spectrum of minimally invasive interventions with special interest in Interventional Oncology, Women’s health (Uterine fibroid embolization, pelvic venous insufficiency), venous disease and hepatobiliary interventions.
